Will Work for Jellybeans

This month has marked the beginning of the end. The end of sleeping in during the morning. n x 1.6km (for n>1) started preschool on the 10th and school begins at the unholy hour of 8am. Mad Scientist has been getting up early to get out the door by 7:30am. He walks over to the school with n x 1.6km (for n>1) and then I pick him up with CED at 10:20am.

So, now we are wading through the bewildering world of PTA and Back to School Night and Halloween Festivals and fundraisers and Picture Day. Yikes! There's a reason I never became an Elementary School teacher. Give me the drama and hormones of Middle School any day!

n x 1.6km (for n>1) was very excited for picture day. We thought an authentic Berkeley tie dye shirt would be appropriately awesome. Then off to school for n x 1.6km (for n>1). I get a call from his teacher saying n x 1.6km (for n>1) refused to take his picture. I guess all the equipment and lights scared him. So, I went down to see if I could get him to take his picture, promising 5 jellybeans if he would take his picture. He got right up and did it with no problem at all. Jellybeans are the balm of all ills.

Taking care of babies is HARD work!

Yesterday, n x 1.6km (for n>1) plopped down beside me with Acorn. Acorn is his stuffed animal horse who, with the advent of CED, was designated a baby horse. n x 1.6km (for n>1) takes good care of Acorn. So, yesterday, n x 1.6km (for n>1) announced that it was Acorn was thirsty and had to drink milk. He lifts up his shirt and put Acorn's nose in the vicinity of his belly button so he could drink milk just like CED.

Afterwords, n x 1.6km (for n>1) proceeded to show me how to burp Acorn and put him down for a nap. n x 1.6km (for n>1) has nursing down pretty well. He knows to switch sides and also all about pumping milk. Also, I was warned very sternly that I had to wash my hands before touching Acorn. And it doesn't count that I already washed my hands to touch CED. I have to wash them again.

Then n x 1.6km (for n>1) told me that Acorn was hungry and needed to eat his lunch which consisted of hay with M&Ms in it. Apparently Acorn is older than CED, because CED can't eat solids yet. I'm not sure when he'll get to the point where he can eat hay, even if it has M&Ms in it.
