A girlfriend and I went out for some Girl's Night Out frozen yogurt the other night and we saw a famous face. Yup. Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap and Enterprise fame was there. Oddly enough, he was the one with a fancy camera rather than someone taking pictures of him. I think maybe one of his kids was having a frozen yogurt party. The kids were inside eating and all the parents outside chatting. He came in occasionally to check on the kids and take some pictures of them having fun.
I'm not sure if I'll ever get used to living in Movie-land. There are many of friends and our ward members who are affiliated with the movie industry in one way or another. Most of them are involved in animation, but some are in movie production or aspiring actors/screenwriters. The only other close encounter with a famous face was while attending another ward in our stake, the speakers were Ricky Schroder (from Silver Spoons fame) and his family. He's LDS and was moving his family overseas for a job or something like that. It is such a foreign world to me and it is weird to live in the middle of it.

POTUS's Duties
On the way home from church last Sunday, n x 1.6 km (for n>1) asked Mad Scientist if he had been the President yet. We asked if he meant the President of the United States (POTUS) and he said yes. We explained it is not really a job that rotates through the general population. n x 1.6 km (for n>1) then asked if we knew what he would do when he was the POTUS. We guessed that it might have something to do with trains.n x 1.6 km (for n>1) then informed us that one of the duties of the POTUS was to build trains. Himself. And when he was the President, he would build trains. But he did admit that he might need some help from other people to build them. We couldn't quite convince him that the President of the United States doesn't really have time to build trains because he has lots of other things to do. When he's President, he will be building trains. In the past, he just has said he'll drive trains when he's President (like President Taft in the pic?). Now he's moved up and is actually building them.
Also, he's convinced that Warren Buffet, who bought the Burlington Northern - Santa Fe Railway last year, bought the trains so that he could drive them. I can't quite see Warren Buffet driving the train, but maybe he can sit in the cab.
