Recently, I was able to take a much needed Girls' weekend trip to Madison, WI. There was a
Time Out for Women Conference there. Usually, I'm not really into that sort of thing, but I really wanted to go hang out with friends and get away for a bit. Since I had such low expectations for the Conference, I was actually surprised and got some spiritual recharge from it, so that's a good thing. We got in some good eats, excellent chatting, hot tubbing, Truth and Dare and very little sleep. So fun.
After the conference, we were able to walk around Madison a bit. The Saturday of the conference was the same day as a home football game, so downtown was hopping.

There happened to also be an Ironman event in Madison the next day and here are all the bikes ready to go. FYI - the Iron Man Triathalon is a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a marathon (26.22 miles).

There wasn't any railings on this walkway on the way to the Student Union Building which made us wonder how many drunk students wandered into the water after games.

I got a pic of a Trolley Pub in Madison. Basically, it was a trolley with tiny bar stools and counters with cup holders. The people sit on the stools and there is a bike pedaling crank at their feet. The trolley is powered by the patrons pedaling. They have a cooler full of alcohol and you drink and pedal yourself around the downtown area. It was quite hilarious to watch.
